Performing Line Ballet

Miss Nikki grew up in Minneapolis, MN and started dancing at the age of five.  She realized that it was a very important part of her life around high school and was able to receive extensive training in multiple genres around the country, including a scholarship to work with Gus Giordano for a summer. She was accepted into the well-known and respected program at Oklahoma City University with alumni such as Kelli O’Hara and Kristin Chenoweth, where she received her BFA in Dance Performance. The program focuses on ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, and musical theatre and also includes both vocal and acting training.  After graduating, she took a leap of faith and moved out to NYC where she worked hard and auditioned every chance she could.  After a short time, she was hired by Norwegian Cruise Line and found another passion, travel.  Miss Nikki spent years traveling around the world with Norwegian and Princess Cruise line where she was a featured dancer in many productions including “That’s Entertainment”, “Encore”, “We Will Rock You”, “America’s Beat”, “On Broadway”, and “Standing Room Only”.  Then she went to Princess Cruise Lines and she was featured in “Do You Wanna Dance”, “Cinematastic”, “Piano Man”, “Tribute”, “Motor City”, “Stardust”, “Moments to Remember”, and “Save the Last Dance”.  Miss Nikki also held the positions of dance captain and company manager, has been trained in both silks and lyra, and was an assistant to two magicians (Jon Shyrock and Fred Becker) and no, she won’t tell you how they do it.

With her degree, she is qualified to do the work “behind the scenes”.  For two years, Miss Nikki was an Install Director with Poet Theatricals on Celebrity Cruise Lines.  In this position, she was in charge of all aspects of the production shows including the lighting, sound, staging, costumes. She was in charge of the entire install team that included costumers from Barcelona, specialty acts from Eastern Europe, and working with the entertainment team on each ship.  She found a different type of satisfaction from this work, but missed performing. Deciding to put the suitcases away for a bit, Miss Nikki returned home to Minneapolis and has been performing since back on land.  Nikki has been seen in the musicals “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” (Maid/ensemble), “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” (Taddy Jo/ensemble), and “The Wedding Singer” (dancer/ensemble) along-side Melissa Hart, a Broadway veteran at The Old Log Theatre. She also has been involved with various industrial and corporate events.  Miss Nikki is a member of the EMC program and also has been an adjudicator for two seasons with multiple competitions around the US.

Miss Nikki is excited and honored to be a part of the 2016-2017 Vogue Season as their ballet teacher and hopes to share her passion and experience with the Vogue family.
